Theater King's College Greek play 2012: Euripides' Hecuba Date: Wednesday 08 - Friday 10 February 2012 Venue: The Greenwood Theatre,55 Weston Street, London SE1 3RA Details: The 2012 Greek Play will be Euripides' Hecuba directed by Roseanna Long, who says: 'I have chosen to stage Euripides’ Hecuba because I feel it will appeal to a contemporary audience as it focuses on human moral dilemmas rather than the influences of the Olympian Gods. Euripides raises the issue of whether revenge in extreme circumstances is a justifiable act which is a question humanity continually battles with today.' The participants will get the chance to sing in the GPA Youth Choir and learn how to play beloved and popular Greek tunes on the guitar, bouzouki, baglama, percussion and other instruments. The lessons will be held at the GPA Centre every Sunday at 15:00-17:30 in Wood Green. The lessons will be focussing on Greek and Cypriot modern and traditional music. The participants will get the chance to sing in the GPA Youth Choir and learn how to play beloved and popular Greek tunes on the guitar, bouzouki, baglama, percussion and other instruments. The lessons will also include a series of theatre games and warm up activities. All teachers are professional musicians with many years of experience working in the education sector (all hold an up to date CRB). The lessons are supported by the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture. We warmly invite every student that wants to learn a musical instrument, sings and loves Greek music to join our lessons and take part in our workshops and concerts.
